Unsupported

The active platform doesn’t expose a periodic-timer surface (e.g. bare-metal without a board-side SysTickHook).

OutOfRange

period_us is below the platform’s minimum timer resolution or above its maximum representable interval.

KernelError

A platform-specific syscall / kernel call failed; check errno (POSIX) or the RTOS error code for details.
