Messages to 2026 New Students.
Congratulations on being admitted to NTU.
Number of students to recruit
We plan to recruit five master students: two/three for each of the two research groups, and 2 doctoral students: one for each of the two research groups.
Where to start
Please visit my website and watch the video to know our current research directions.
If you find our researches interesting:
If you are interested in joining us, please choose one of the two groups and check whether you meet the requirements listed below.
- Autonomous Vehicles group: the students should be familiar with
- Operating Systems
- Computer Networks
- C and Python programming. Knowing RUST is a plus.
- Embedded systems
- (Optional) Machine learning
- (plus) car driver license
- Smart Sensor Group: the students should be familiar with
- Computer Visions
- Neural Networks or Green Learning
- Memory management in operating systems
- (plus) Digital circuits or VHDL
- (plus) embedded systems.
Requirements for the students
Below are the minimal requirements for the students:
- The first-year students have to attend at least two weekly meetings: a lab meeting and a research group meeting.
- The second-year students also need to attend bi-weekly one-on-one thesis meetings.
Expectations from the professor
- Below are my expectations to the students.
- The students need to be self-motivated in my lab. Hence, there is no schedule for the students to show up in the lab. It depends on how you manage your own time. Due to the limited space, we will not have one designated seat for every student. The lab space will be used for experiments and conducting research.
- The requirements for the thesis are to meet the quality of conference/journal papers at Rank B or better.
Support for the students
- Below are the supports for the students:
- The students will receive monthly financial support from NSTC (國科會) and/or our industrial partners. The amount will depend on the participation of the students. It may range from 6,000 to 16,000 for master’s students.
- Computing facilities: laptop, access to high-performance computing facility, etc.
- Scholarships from or internships at our industrial partners
- International or domestic internships in summer/winter.
What to do next
If the above sounds good to you, please email me to schedule an interview.
