In February 2004, I joined the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering at National Taiwan University as an assistant professor. At the same time, I joined the Real-time and Embedded Systems Lab, which was renamed to the NEWS Lab (Wireless Networking and Embedded Systems Lab.) Now, Dr. Chi-Sheng Shih is a professor at Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia and Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Taiwan University.
Several of my research interests developed when I was at Urbana-Champaign will continue. For instance, multi-dimension real-time resource allocation and real-time scheduling theory. In the meantime, I start investigating other emerging, interesting, and challenging research topics. At this moment, my research interests include real-time process scheduling, requirement assignment and determination, resource allocation, cyber-physical systems, streaming computation, and system integration. Between August 2017 and August 2018, I had a jointed position at National Taiwan University Hospital and serve as the Sector Chief of System and Networking Group in the Office of Information Technology. Between September 2018 and July 2019, I had a jointed position at LiLee Systems as a Chief Scientist and participate the projects related to autonomous vehicle. Between August 2019 and July 2022, I served the Director of Graduate Institute of Networking and Multimedia, National Taiwan University and the Interim Director of High Performance and Scientific Computing Center.
Between August 2022 and July 2024, I served the Associate Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and am responsible for international affairs. Between March 2024 and October 2024, I also served the Director of the High Performance and Scientific Computing (HPSC) Center at National Taiwan University. Starting in November 2024, I served the Director of the Center of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Robotics (AIRobo) at National Taiwan University.
